Ask Your Mother was formed in January of 2008. Aaron Anderson (Lead Vocals) was the original Lead Vocalist for the popular Fox Valley-based band Boogie and the Yo-Yo'Z. He left Boogie in November 2001 to pursue other career opportunities. In 2003, he joined Waupaca-based band, Mr. Vargus. Over the past 5 years, Tim Morey (Guitarist - Mr. Vargus), John Knoke (Guitarist - Mr. Vargus), and Aaron formed a partnership that was unbreakable. Kevin Schabo (Bass Guitar) joined Mr. Vargus in the summer of 2007. Kevin played in the popular Oshkosh-based band, Frenzy, where he built a friendship with Joe Nemeth (Drums‑Frenzy).

  On a wickedly windy night in December 2007, Aaron, Tim, Joe, and Kevin met to discuss a "new direction" for a local band unlike any other and Ask Your Mother was born.

InIn April 2010 Aaron informed his brothers in AYM that he needed a change of venue to advance his life endeavors and was moving to Colorado. Aarons shoes would be hard to fill but for the next two months auditions were held sampling some of the brightest new talent in Northeastern Wisconsin. Hands down one candidate stood out from the rest and Eric "Stretch" Rathsacke was welcomed in to lead AYM to a dazzling future.
